A family day out in Newburgh: delicious food and beach fun

If you're driving, you can park in the beach car park before taking the short boardwalk down to the sand. The boardwalk is buggy friendly, making it ideal for little ones. Here you can access the beautiful beach, have a seat, climb the sand dunes and do some seal spotting.

If you've got time, take the short walk up to the viewpoint where you'll be rewarded with beautiful views across the dunes and coastline.

Whether you fancy a paddle or picnic on a warm day, or heading out for an autumnal or winter walk wrapped, it's a lovely place to explore all year round.

After some fresh air, head to Trellis for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

The children's menu is brilliant - babyccinos are always a hit and the home baking is worth the visit alone (the cinnamon rolls, cookies and scones are our favourites!).

If you're bringing your dog, Trellis has a handful of dog-friendly tables in the conservatory. It's worth booking ahead if you can.

Before heading home, pop into The Little Gift Shop by the Sea, just across from Trellis.

It's packed with Jellycats, children's toys and clothes, gifts and beautiful homeware, candles and locally sourced treats. Even if you're only browsing, it's well worth a look.

This is one of our favourite easy family days out because it's completely flexible and filled with fresh air. You can spend a couple of hours here or easily make it a full day.

Trellis is one of our all-time favourite coffee shops, as the food is unreal and it’s so pretty inside, the gift shop is really cute and the beach is such a nice walking route. The combination just works so well for people of all ages.
